A sub 7K Monday night hammer vs. one of the worst secondaries the the league…..I’m in. Understandably, many DFS players will avoid Megatron after a pitiful 1-16 performance chalking it up his poor performance to age. But I think the Big fella has one more huge game in this 2016 season. No better time to prove you still have something left than on MNF. This is a perfect bounce back spot for Calvin in a game that has the making of a shootout( highest vegas over under of 51). New Lions OC Jim Bob Cooter learned his lesson last week that victories run through Megatron which will translate to an ultra bump in usage + targets to make up for it. The gamescript figures to be 2 teams who struggle to run the ball but have had success in the passing game. I believe we will see lots of passes which means extra plays and lots of Megatron red zone looks that will turn into TD’s. While I don’t think he will completely go off like on Thanksgiving, but one more prime time multi TD game is in order for Johnson. Cash in on the low ownership as recency bias will make him an underowned week 15 stud.
This was an extremely tough choice because I could have made a case for about 5 different WR’s at this market. However, I again will go away from chalk and take the extremely underpriced Jeremy Maclin. Despite one of the worst seasons in franchise history, the Ravens have excelled at one thing…stopping the run. Even in a game that figures to be lopsided, I believe the Chiefs will have to get a majority of their offensive production through the air. The struggling Ravens secondary will have difficulty stopping the elusive Maclin who’s 39.1% of team targets in week 14 was the highest % of targets by any WR minus Jarvis Landry. Alex Smith goes to Maclin early and often which will make him a low owned high scoring WR, and a perfect contrarian play for GPP use.
This will be very chalky but $4400 for Carson’s new favorite target may be the biggest bargain in the entire slate. After Bruce Arians announced weeks ago that Floyd overtook Brown as the #2 WR for the Cardinals, Floyd has started to flourish in Arizona. In the last 2 weeks only Julio Jones and Eric Decker have seen more targets and Floyd who has put together a combined stat line of 12-206-1 in weeks 13+14. Floyd also gets Eagles rookie CB Eric Rowe who got outmuscled by Calvin Johnson for 8-93-3 on Thanksgiving. Look for Palmer to take advantage of this mismatch in a fast paced game that should see plenty of action through the air.
I would advise staying away from all Ravens WR’s this week . With Schaub expected back and also facing one of the league’s hottest defenses in the Chiefs, it could get very ugly Sunday. Despite being the “#1” WR Aiken is supposed to face Sean Smith who should have no problem erasing Aiken’s routes all day long. If you are a sucker for game flow and want to take a Ravens WR, definitely do not pay 4600 for Kamar when the Ravens targets have been very sporadic since Flacco injury. I’d go with a much cheaper dart throw in Jeremy Butler (3700) or Givens (3400) but you won’t catch me investing in any Raven this week.
