Everyday we will post a Market Check, which is a summary of our research on a different position for the week.

This is not the end of our advice for the week.  At the end of the week, we’ll make our picks at each position.  Some of the picks will not be discussed in the Market Check.

 BULL MARKET

Players we believe will out-perform their salary for the week. These guys will give you the most bang for your buck when you are building lineups.

BRANDIN COOKS

DraftKings: $7,000 / FanDuel: $7,400

Cooks will redeem himself after a sluggish fantasy start to the season. The Buccaneers secondary allowed Kendall Wright to go for 101 yards and a TD on Sunday. Even with special attention and press coverage, the Bucs DB’s were not good enough to cover Wright 1 on 1. Cooks runs similar routes to Kendall Wright for the Saints, and is a much tougher matchup for the Bucs DB’s if they decide to press him. There will be no Patrick Peterson lock down this week. And after being targeted 9 times in week 1, it’s safe to say Brees and Cooks will hook up often and he will be in for a BIG day on this horrible Bucs secondary

JARVIS LANDRY

DraftKings: $5,800 / FanDuel: $7,100

Outside of Julio Jones, Landry is the safest bet to receive a full workload of targets and receptions weekly. Sunday he received 12 targets, and that was in a game where the Dolphins only ran 57 plays total, which will be well below their season average. It’s also important to note that Landry was only off the field for 3 snaps total in the game, a much higher percentage than the other WR’s. Tannehill-Landry connection will keep rolling Sunday vs another poo poo D. Jacksonville cannot rush the passer, and the their DB’s blew a couple coverages. If the Panthers had anything close to an NFL WR it would have been ugly for the Jags defense. This is a very safe play….I’m confident playing Landry in all contest formats and he’s one of my favorite for cash game lineups.

ERIC DECKER

DraftKings: $5,100 / FanDuel: $6,000

The Jets offense is better than you think. The offensive line is very good, and Ivory gives them a legit run game threat. Stopping Ivory will open things up for Fitzpatrick through the air. Defensive coordinators will focus on stopping Ivory and Marshall, allowing Decker to “get his.” With the Jets likely trailing Monday night, and Vontae Davis following Marshall, I like Decker’s chances of having a monster game.

JOHN BROWN

DraftKings: $5,100 / FanDuel: $6,200

Brown is still underpriced on both DraftKings and FanDuel. “Smoke” out snapped any other receiver in week 1, including Larry Fitzgerald, which cements him as the feature WR this season. Brown was lined up all over the field and targeted 7 times. The Cardinals offense looked crisp. The O-line, despite not being fully healthy, protected really well and opened big holes for Ellington on the ground. Using multiple TE sets and establishing the run will force defenses to crowd the box and open up the deep balls that Brown is known for. Arians will continue to call his 6 “home run” calls per game, look for one of those to hit to JB this weekend.

PIERRE GARCON

DraftKings: $5,000 / FanDuel: $5,400

Like we said with Jordan Reed, the Redskins are low on playmakers. They want to run the ball, but will get stuffed by the Rams elite Dline. With the middle jammed up, Garcon will get extra work with quick passes on the outside to let the physical receiver try to muscle for a few yards. Garcon will be near the top of the targets leaders this week, which gives him a very high floor for his reasonable lower tier price.

TERRANCE WILLIAMS

DraftKings: $4,200 / FanDuel: $6,300

With Dez out, this is too big of a bargain to pass. Terrance is now the #1 WR, with the #1 offensive line protecting a very accurate QB. It’s quite possible the Cowboys fall behind the Eagles and Terrance gets showered in targets. Cole Beasley is also an intriguing tournament play for those looking to squeeze a WR into their lineup.

BEAR MARKET

ANDRE JOHNSON

DraftKings: $5,800 / FanDuel: $6,800

Andre looked slow, unsure, and old in his debut with his new team, even dropping a wide open 2 pt conversion. Taking a trip to Revis Island won’t help either. The Jets will be getting pressure on Luck all night and it will be tough to get Andre the ball. I like Moncrief at a much cheaper price to step up in Hilton’s absence more than paying upper level money for Johnson.

AMARI COOPER

DraftKings: $6,400 / FanDuel: $6,700

Derek Carr status up in the air but it won’t matter. The Raiders face another AFC north opponent whose defense may even be better than the Bengals. The big concern is Oakland is their O-line who could not protect long enough to let Carr scan the field. Jimmy Smith and Ladarius Webb did a number on the talented Broncos WR’s and it will continue against Cooper and the Raiders. Fade him in all contests

TORREY SMITH

DraftKings: $5,100 / FanDuel: $5,900

The game script will call for a lot of passes, but I don’t trust Kaepernick’s arm enough to sacrifice the mid salary range for this deep ball threat. One deep connection could make him worth it, but Smith carries a goose egg floor that is too low for me to roll the dice on.

ALLEN ROBINSON

DraftKings: $4,900 / FanDuel: $5,700

Do you guys hear that??? It’s the Arob hype train coming to a screeching halt. Never a sure handed prospect, he dropped 2 easy passes that would have helped to get Bortles in a rhythm on Sunday. The game script will allow a lot of passes once again, but Bortles will be under fire all day from the Dolphins pass rush, and the pesky Dolphins corners will be challenging Robinson every snap. I’m fading the “Target Monster” until new offensive coordinator, Greg Olson, shows a willingness to feed him some targets on screens or underneath routes.
